The Insider’s Guide to Palm Beach

Welcome to my happy place, home away from home, and favorite staycation location! As a south Florida native, former Palm Beach resident, and frequent visitor, I know all the go to places to sleep, eat, and play for a wonderful Palm Beach vacation.

Sleep

  • The Breakers: The historic, luxury Palm Beach hotel built in the gilded age of the late 1800’s by Henry Morrison Flagler. There’s so much to do on property, you may never want to leave. Even if you don’t stay here, definitely drop by for a drink and some snacks at HMF or the Seafood Bar.
  • The Colony: We love staycations at this pink paradise! Its Worth Avenue location cannot be beat. The complimentary bikes, paddle boards, car service, and beach concierge all add a little something extra to your stay.
  • The Chesterfield & The Brazillian Court Hotel: Both are 1920’s style boutique hotels located just off of Worth Avenue. The Chesterfield is light/airy (think pink) and the Brazillian Court is more of a Spanish colonial vibe. Both are excellent choices.
  • Eau Palm Beach: For me, the Eau’s location is a little to far from the heart of Palm Beach (the Breakers, Worth Avenue), being considerably south of the other properties. However, the property is stunning and has one of the best spas in town.

Eat

  • HMF and the Seafood Bar at the Breakers. Both are excellent
  • Buccan & Imoto (Buccan’s sushi concept next door)
  • Surfside Diner: casual breakfast spot just off Worth Avenue
  • The Circle at the Breakers: upscale breakfast spot at the Breakers hotel
  • Ta-boo: Classic Worth Avenue lunch/dinner spot
  • Renatos: Italian just off of Worth Avenue in a beautiful outdoor setting
  • Honor Bar: American in Royal Poinciana. Great burger and tuna tartare
  • Cafe Boulud in the Brazilian Court hotel
  • Cucina: A local favorite, this Italian restaurant turns into a dance hall at night with free pizza around 2 AM.
  • Echo: Swanky pan-Asian with fantastic cocktails
  • Sant Ambroeus: Italian in Royal Poinciana. Palm Beach outpost of the NY restaurant
  • Meat Market: modern steakhouse with a lively bar

Shop

  • Worth Avenue: High end shopping (Chanel, LV, Van Cleef, etc.) mixed with preppy Palm Beach favorites (Lily Pulitzer, Vineyard Vines, J. Mclaughlin, Club Monaco, etc.)
  • Royal Poinciana: More contemporary shopping like Zimmermann, YSL, Theory, Alice & Olivia, Love Shack Fancy, and so many more
  • Restoration Hardware: Browse the furniture and décor showroom and then head to the rooftop for a drink. **Just across the bridge from Palm Beach Island
  • Serena & Lilly: Beachy housewares that will make you want to redecorate
  • Skinny Dip boutique for beachy dresses and cover ups

Play

  • Flagler Museum
  • Society of the Four Arts
  • Bike along Lake Trail: Most Palm Beach hotels will offer complimentary bikes. Bikes can also be rented at the Palm Beach Bicycle Trail Shop. Biking is the best way to explore the island.
  • Beach/pool day
  • Spa day at the Breakers, Eau, or Four Seasons, all 5 star spas
  • Yacht charter: There’s no better way to see Palm Beach (or any coastal town) than from the water.

  • Bougainvillea framed blue door: This Instagram famous door is easy to find! If you’re in the Worth Avenue area, GPS Renatos and cross the street.
  • Worth Avenue Clock Tower
  • Colony Hotel: Its pink.
